What if assemblies were selected by a democratic lottery?

What if, instead of elections we had a democratic lottery system that selected assembly members by lot? Would this help with the direct needs of communities better than the current system that is in place? This could work but there should be guidelines of course in the coming constitution that outlines a requirement that prevents discrimination against any specific group. From the RepresentALL standpoint, communities should create a system that polls the needs of local communities and outlines solutions on how to address them. Any member selected by lottery to represent the people would need to follow through on the wants & needs of the collective, as long as they of course did not violate the civil or constitutional rights of any specific groups. A right to housing, a right to land use? That belongs to all of us so why are our neighbors falling further & further into poverty?
